Information we collect

When you visit our website, we automatically collect certain technical details such as your IP address, browser type, the time of your visit, the pages you access, and general usage patterns. This information is gathered through cookies and other tracking technologies, along with your cookie preferences (necessary, statistical, or marketing).

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we ask for your full name, email address, company name, and job title. These details are used to send you newsletters, relevant marketing material, and to analyse engagement with our communications. This processing is always based on your explicit consent.

When you participate in events, exhibitions, or similar activities, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, and company name. We use this information to send invitations, follow up afterwards, and maintain further dialogue. Depending on the situation, this processing is based either on legitimate interest or on your consent.

If you apply for a job with us, the information you provide through our third party recruitment platform, Talent Recruiter, will be processed for the purpose of evaluating your application and managing the recruitment process. The legal basis for this is both your consent and the necessity of processing your data to enter into an employment agreement. For more details, please see Talent Recruiter’s own Privacy Policy.

How we collect information

Your data is collected either directly through forms on our website, newsletter sign-ups, event registrations, or recruitment submissions, or indirectly, via cookies and analytics tools that track your interactions with our website.

Why we process your data

We use your data to ensure the smooth operation of our website, including functionality, maintenance, analysis, and optimisation of services and marketing. For newsletters, your data enables us to send you updates and marketing communications, provided you have given consent. For events, it allows us to send invitations, follow up afterwards, and maintain ongoing dialogue. For recruitment, your data is used to handle applications in line with consent and employment requirements.

Data retention

We keep your data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described above or for as long as we have valid consent. Once the purpose no longer applies, or if you withdraw your consent, your data will be deleted or anonymised. Newsletter data, for example, will be deleted no later than 30 days after you unsubscribe. Data related to events and recruitment will be stored only as long as deemed necessary for business needs or legal requirements.

Use of Social Media Data

When you engage with our social media platforms; LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Google services, we may collect and process information about your interactions (for example, likes, comments, shares, clicks, page views, or similar engagement data). We use this data to improve our services and communications, to analyse trends and user interests, for statistical purposes, to measure the effectiveness of our content and campaigns, and to better understand and reach our audiences. The processing is based on our legitimate interest in communicating effectively with users and improving our business (GDPR art. 6(1)(f)).

Your data may also be processed jointly with the social media platforms, who act as independent controllers in relation to their own processing. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of the relevant platforms for further information about how they process your personal data.

Third-party processors

To handle some of our processing, we use trusted third-party providers. HubSpot manages our newsletters, social media and website tracking and acts as a GDPR-compliant marketing- and customer data processor. Job applications are handled via Talent Recruiter, and processing takes place according to their privacy policy.

Disclosure of personal data

Your personal data will never be shared with undisclosed third parties without your explicit consent, unless we are legally required to do so.

Your rights

Under GDPR, you have several rights in relation to your personal data. You may request access to the data we hold about you, correct inaccurate information, or ask for your data to be deleted (“the right to be forgotten”). You also have the right to withdraw your consent at any time, to object to processing, and to request data portability, meaning you can receive your data in a structured, commonly used format. If you wish to exercise any of these rights, please contact us at marketingdk@norseagroup.com.
